Hormones are not a cure for endometriosis but they can break the cycle. They stop you from having the hormonal cycles, ovulation and hence the activation of those endometriosis tissues. What works with you might not work with someone else. I always recommend this Patient decision aid tool developed and available on the NICE website. Here is the link.

Hormonal management is a common approach to treating endometriosis. Hormonal therapy works by reducing the levels of estrogen in the body, which can help to slow the growth of endometriosis tissue and reduce pain and other symptoms.

Hormonal management for endometriosis typically involves the use of hormonal medications, such as oral contraceptives, gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists, and progestins. These medications can help to suppress the menstrual cycle and reduce the production of estrogen, which can help to reduce the growth of endometriosis tissue and improve symptoms.

While hormonal management can be an effective treatment for endometriosis, it is not a definitive cure. In many cases, endometriosis tissue may continue to grow and cause symptoms, even with hormonal therapy. In addition, hormonal therapy can have side effects, such as weight gain, mood changes, and reduced bone density.
